What's your budget and what cpu and power supply are you running? And what's your monitor's maximum resolution?

Unless you think you'll need directx 11, the lower end 4000 series cards are a much better bang for the buck than the new 5000 series counterparts. Newegg.ca has 4850s for $110 and those will have no problem whatsoever with WoW and most nearly any other game available. The 5650 is about the same price, and the 4850 performs substantially better.

If you're looking to spend a bit more, things change, the 5770 and 4870 have comparable performance (though the 4870 usually holds the edge) and are roughly the same price. So it might be better to get the more futureproof 5770 there.

After that, you can't really go wrong, though the 5830 is a good bit more expensive than the similarly performing 4890. This is starting to get in to the overkill area of performance for most folks though.

Hmm, just saw your note about dual-screens - in that case you might consider the 5000 series cards for Eye-Finity - the missus will probably hate you, or rather me, but you can see it here:

That's supposedly with the 5770

You're running an ATI I assume? Nvidia just released some new drivers that are causing overheats and serious FPS loss. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't that first is all :)

Yea, I've got EyeFinity envy. I picked up a 4870 last January. I want to hook up at least one more monitor, but I've got it running to my hdtv also.

Sad thing is that at this point it'd be cheaper to build a htpc than upgrade the card.

Yeah, prices haven't come down much in the last year, they've gone up a bit I think, if anything.
I suspect it's a lot to due with nvidia not releasing anything interesting, nor even competing much pricewise with ati/amd. The gtx 480 or something like that should be out very soon though, which hopefully will mean some price adjustments on the 5000 series cards.
